 The company of Baker & Benedict Surveying Inc. was created in 1995 from the predecessor W.A. Baker Surveying Inc. Baker & Benedict Surveying Inc. and its predecessors is one of the longest existing survey firms in the area. Our survey records go back well beyond a hundred years. We have three experienced Ontario Land Surveyors in the firm. The greatest portion of our day to day work consists of surveys which relate to the establishment and re-establishment of property boundaries which require the supervision of an Ontario Land Surveyor. This work encompasses large projects such as subdivisions, road allowance boundaries widenings and expropriations, farms, conservation authority lands etc. and small projects such as residential lots. We also carry out engineering and topographical surveys, land planning, municipal drainage surveys and control surveys. Our firm acted as prime contractor in the Ministry of Natural Resources aerial mapping of the City of Woodstock and surrounding area at a scale of 1:2000. To facilitate our work in performing these services, we make use of electronic equipment such as total station instruments, electronic field book and printer as well as micro-computers and a dedicated word processor. Our survey firm works in close association with the engineering firm of Springbank Consulting Engineers Limited. We find this arrangement is of considerable advantage to our clients when a project requires both engineering and property surveying work. We have directly for or in co-operation with various engineering and aerial mapping companies and architects. The combined staff of surveying and engineering professionals, technicians and office personnel varies between five and ten employees. Due to the versatility and size of our staff, we are almost always able to give prompt attention to our clients' requirements. |
